One day when Wei En and I was talking via MSN about the new Macbooks, out of the random he copied and paste these short passages:

"What I fail to realise is this: I am in absolute no position to determine my future. If I had, I would be living in my own dream world. It always seems as if a better future is ahead after all the present hardships and we work towards that future. The sad fact is: there is no better future in this world. No matter how hard we seek this better future on this earth, we will fail.

Looking at the situation around the world today; the milk sandal, the economic crisis, all the riots, bombings and natural disasters, one would be blind not to see that this world is a hopeless, fallen world and that we are hopeless, fallen men living in it.

We fallable humans have tried to savage situations, to maintain unity and to create a better tomorrow in this world. But how many times do we see the deja vu of past mistakes? This corrupted world from the history we learnt has never been truly peaceful for once. Instead, we learn of countless horrors from World War Two, natural disasters that take lives, nation going against nation, people against people. These are not just things that happen in movies. They are absolute real. In no way is history useful unless we see the sad reality that this world is corrupted."

I don't know why I typed it, but I simply told him that that's because the Lord is coming back very soon. There are many signs that are indicating this, like the Pope's death, countless deaths caused by natural forces or by us wicked humans. (Not exactly the way I told him though.) He told me jokingly that I was very religious and that great minds think alike.

Puzzled, I asked him where he'd got that short passage from. He gave me this link, notibutchrist.wordpress.com/, stating also that he found it out of boredom. This guy is a christian, quite a sincere one, with every article talking about his walk with Christ, testimony and sorts. He is a very good writer too - great command of the English language. No signs of being a Charismatic one yet though, just hope that he's attending a good church. A bit of advertisement here, but seriously, it's worth the effort of the finger muscles clicking on the link.

Whether people believe the real cause behind all these, it's not really our problem, so long as we sincerely tell others the truth. Yea and Amen, for more and more of what Jesus had predicted cometh, tide after tide.

There's simply too much to share, but i'd would just like to state a few:

2 Timothy 3:1-5,7 "But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of god; holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

Surely this are the verses that explains what's written in the copied and paste section! Man are just fighting man, just like what Rev Quek preached on Sunday, for promotions, bonuses, money, fame, pride, and many other things their wicked hearts know. When their colleagues fail to get extra bonus or promotion, they smile, but when they recieve it, their faces are as long as cucumbers.

Over the last century, the most massive wars have taken place, like WW1 & WW2, the Cold War, Gulf War. Israel itself has already suffered more than enough bloodshed. This period of time has been the most cruelsome for the history of mankind - man vs. man, killing each other with knives, guns, explosives, bombs and other deadly. This verse -
Matthew 24:7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquake."- describes the situation perfectly. Terrorist attacks - have we not grown tired of these? It's been so common ever since the 911 incident. One point of time I was reading about the Russian school raid. I was quite freaked out, as I thought what if it was happening in SG? "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end." Matthew 24:6

Tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, extinct volcanoes erupting all of a sudden. All these are happening more and more frequently these days. The 2004 Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, 2008 Sichuan Earthquake, Myanmar Cyclone, the melting icecaps, rising atmospheric temperature, and many others that I'm too ignorant to find out about. Have we had enough? Even the small little red dot is not save! In fact, no one can be! No one can stop natural disasters from happening, unlike man-made ones, except for one. The almighty creator.

As the prophecy foretold by Jesus himself unfolds itself one by one, it's like we just flow with the current and ignore what this horrid society is doing to us. We just want a living, earn big bucks, enjoy live. What they don't realise is how the world is evolving, day by day. One day you may have loads of cash, the next moment you have none. Some people have plunged back into the past and realised this changing world. I'm sure many they'd have realised how much toxic lies within the lies that has been created time after time, so much so that it has become like a deja vu. Hopefully this realisation will help them come to know about Christ.

I had a little chat with somebody today, and I think only Timothy would know who.

It's very scary to know that people we trust actually are looking only to make profit out of you. We thought we could trust them, but after a while, the truth is uncovered and by the time you know it you're standing in quicksand.

I'm naive and I can't judge people. I'm quite deceivable. I mostly believe people after they've finished their speech. I try to think, but it's difficult.

Especially in this modern world society, where everything can be summed into 3 words - money, money, money. Everyone can't resist money. Be honest - everyone can't resist money. They would trade money for even the most precious things they clinging on to. Take Judas Iscariot, who sold Jesus, the one and only Lamb of God, for 30 pieces of silver. He sold Jesus as a slave!

Like what happened just recently, AIG has been filed for bankruptcy and ever since then things has been going from bad to worse, creating much unrest in the economical world and football. Everyone thought that the world is on it's way down (which it is though.)

It has become such a thing that I would doubt anyone and everyone who speak to me. I would have to think thrice, "Is he/she talking truth?" or "Can he/she be trusted?" Scary right? I know.

That somebody today told me that I had been cheated of my guitar. He said that my guitar would only be worth at most $300. "Erm, $300?" "Actually $250 to $300, but second hand. You're not the first to get cheated, you're like the 101st." He went on to speak about the flaws of the guitar and showing why it was only worth at most $300 ($290, to be exact). I bought my Ibanez from a 'friend' that my dad trusted for $450.

"But, I thought all Ibanez GIOs were sold at this price?" Hmm, yes but we're usually paying for brands this days. It's just like a school nametag. You spend that much money just for a plastic strip, a pin and a sticker just to get recognised. Otherwise, you'll be looked down upon.

That someone even went on to say that even the expensive brands - Fender, Gibson, Prs are all made in China. Worst thing is that, people pay a few thousands for it. If you don't go up on stage with this brands, people look down at you. A Fender Telecaster may sound, feel and play the same as an SX one, but it's the big fat name FENDER which makes the difference.

Sometimes, these companies try to earn money just by putting a famous guitarist name on a model and raise the price up till it's not worth the price anymore. For example, a guitar may have seemingly standard parts, but they cost so much more! Nowadays many guitarists like to simplify their guitar until it's like the bare essentials - a guitar body, a fretboard which has no designs at all or just the standard dots on it or some weird design on it, a single pickup, fixed bridge or sometimes tremolo, and a volume pickup. That's all. Yet they still cost a bomb - just because they're making use of a guy's name!

"If it was back in the 80's or 90's I may consider." People back then was so honest, utilising only hardwork to earn their wages. Now, people want more profit, letting cheap labour from China take over dedicated hard work. Wow, what a twist! And some still dare boast their 'special features' nowadays.

That guy my dad trusted is the one whom I get all my guitars from. His shop is right down a few stories where that someone's shop is. He appears very friendly to adults, but he treats students with much less hospitality. Why adults? 'Cause we lil' kids don't have money. Adults just look at something nice and they're already putting their hands in their pockets in search for their wallets. I can't believed that my dad was ripped off after the much 'friendship' they shared. I can't blame him though as he knows nothing of guitars. I just hope the 'leprosy' guitar repair would be really worth $200.

At the end of the day, the world is filled with 'thieves and extortionist', all seeking only to benefit themselves. Who can we trust in the world? Absolutely no one. We can only trust God and his people. I still have a little doubt of that someone I spoke with today...

However, thank God today for teaching me to be contented with what I have. Yea and Amen, Hallelujah Praise to be to God who reigns from up high, who provideth grace like an everlasting river. (LOL!)

As you all might already have known, my brother is in NUH now.

Apparently he crashed into a lorry when he was cycling, taking a knock with him on the head, leaving him unconcious.

Thanks God his conscious again. The knock was not that serious although he seem to be confused and cannot remember what had happen before the crash. He'll be put under observation for the next 24hours.

Please pray for him, for the power of prayer worketh wanders.

The world is changing.

You can't deny it.

Slowly and steadily, even the B-P churches have been affected. Songs are being more contemporary, the way we worship have been changed to, all which have turned towards the more contemporary side.

What I mean by contemporary is 'modern'. Hence CCM may mean "christian music in a modern style". Ah whatever. Many think that CCM is some evil term or something which turns your soul black instantly.

Koshy's message was interesting. He made 1 hour seem like 10mins! Although many complained that he didn't explain the kind of instrument playing that will make christian songs 'bad', I think tha t he just had too little time to spare. IMO, he used the limited he had well, pointing out a few key points that may convince one about listening to CCM.

What hit me was the verse from Romans 12:1 (i think it's this verse) where it states, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." I've got to admit, I see what others do before I judge what can I or can't do. Like, (FOR EXAMPLE ONLY AH!!!) "James does this what, why can't I?" or "Eld Boon does this what, why can't i?" or "AA does this what, why I cannot?"

However, Koshy has taught me that it is not the standard of man we should be following, but we must follow what God does. "accecptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." and NOT "acceptable unto church leaders" or whatsoever. Each one of us has different opinions and thoughts, it's very hard to discern who is right and wrong. Thank God for the Bible for it's like an answer book to all our questions.

I pity The Rev Koshy for he listeneth to dumb stuff just for the sake of preparing a sermon. I think he really got the extreme ones, like 'Jesus rocks' or 'Jesus is a homie'. It's funny and yet it's saddening. You mean you think that God is such a man? The Great God and the Creator of all mankind and the earth is just a homie to you? Come on, Jesus died for you and you're not appreciative of it? All this lyrics are just mockery.

However, like our group discussed, there's some CCM songs with very encouraging lyrics, some of which are already in the YF hymn book. Take for example a song by Kutless, titled 'We Fall Down'.

We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
We cry holy, holy, holy
Is the lamb.

And one more, titled 'Jesus Lord of Heaven'

Jesus, Lord of Heaven,
I did not deserve
the grace that you have given to me
and the promise of your word.

Lord I stand in wonder
of the sacrifice you made
with mercy beyond measure
My debt you freely paid.

However, I totally agree with The Rev Koshy at one point - christian bands seldom use the term "Jesus", "God", or contain lyrics that may convey a strong sense of their faith and love. Most of the christian bands i've listened to have lyrics which are very vague in their meaning, till you may even think that it is just some secular song. Only one or two i've come across actually has good lyrics. However, I still say 'no' for taking them as perfectly alright. Remember, they still have a secular crowd out there to please, the only way they fill their pockets. Hence, they will have elements to attract the worldy crowd. Sometimes, it's king of ironic especially for christian metal bands, where they express christian faith, but what they do is scream their hearts out and play music that resembles nothing but the metalcore bands out there. People dance to this songs, claiming that it is the Holy Spirit's working, not knowing that it is nothing but Satan directing them. (Pandan also have, that Vincent Pek there dancing...No lah Just Kidding...)

Debates are never-ending - even though there's a wrap-up for it, the issue still lingers on in the YF. They are mainly movies and music. Crap, is it that we've becoming too influenced or is it that they've become more extreme? When it hits a certain topic, there will be an auto command to say 'no'. I know i'm not a person who will chase answers till i catch it, but shouldn't we consider it? If it's 'no', then hallelujah praise the Lord.

The Rev Koshy says that he's preparing a sermon with 300 powerpoint slides plus all the vids he has watched. I want to go for that sermon;)
